About us
An EV charging company built around the electrical work
AxionVolt — sometimes written Axion Volt — has supplied and installed EV charging infrastructure across the San Francisco Bay Area since 2019. We are based in Fremont, we hold our own C-10 electrical contractor licence, and our electricians are employees rather than subcontractors.
Why that structure matters to you
Most of the frustration in this industry comes from split responsibility. A hardware vendor sells you a charger, refers you to an installer, and when the unit faults eight months later each points at the other. The homeowner is left mediating between two companies who have already been paid.
We sell the hardware and we do the installation, which means there is exactly one company to call. If the unit is faulty, that is ours. If the circuit is wrong, that is also ours. The distinction stops being your problem.
What we are careful about
We will tell you when you need less than you asked for. A meaningful share of our survey calls end with us recommending a smaller charger, or a load management device instead of a panel upgrade, or occasionally that the customer does not need us at all because their existing outlet is adequate. Selling someone an 80-amp charger for a car that charges overnight is not service, it is just a larger invoice.
We quote fixed and we hold it. Change orders are the industry's standard method for making a low bid profitable. Our survey exists so the quote is right the first time; if we misjudge, we absorb it.
We do not quote expired incentives. The federal 30C credit ended on 30 June 2026 and a lot of published material has not caught up. A quote that shows a credit you cannot claim is not a competitive quote, it is a wrong one.
Where we work
We are in Fremont, in the Cushing Parkway corridor, and we serve most of the Bay Area within a reasonable drive: the East Bay from Richmond down through Hayward and Union City, the South Bay through Milpitas, San Jose and Santa Clara, the Peninsula and San Francisco itself. If you are outside that radius, tell us anyway — for larger commercial projects we travel further.
